FAQs

Q: I keep losing. Why?
A: Are your opponents much higher rated? Consider reading some Tips and familiarizing yourself with some basic Maneuvers. Review your games, especially losses, using the Replayer. This is an easy-to-learn, hard-to-master type game.
Q: Can I change my username?
A: If this is for a registered account, then no, usernames are unique and cannot be altered once set. However, if this is for an unregistered Guest, you can change your nickname anytime.
Q: How do I provide feedback, report bugs, propose changes, ask questions, contact the creator, etc?
A: Depending on the desired audience (just me, the creator, or other players as well), submit a response to the feedback form or post on the game subreddit.
Q: Is this game open-source?
A: No. Check out this game's GitHub that houses all code I make available to the public.
Q: What is the infrastructure and tech stack for this game?
A: There is a Front End server to serve all the pages, a Match Making websocket server, 1 or more Game websocket servers, and Google Cloud Firestore as a shared database. Everything is written in Typescript, and no game engine is used. As this is a popular question, I’ve written a more comprehensive writeup in the following Reddit post: How was this game made.
Q: Where did you get your image/audio assets from?
A: Non-crest image assets like wind icons were purchased from Iconfinder, and several of the coin crests were freely obtained from there. I made several crests myself as well. Game sounds were obtained from Freesound. All free assets were appropriately licensed to be used in this game.
Q: Any monetization plans?
A: Not in the near future. Maybe never. The plan is to introduce certain exclusive Supporter skins that require actual currency to buy. I will keep skins cosmetic only. I’m undecided on advertisements but leaning toward omitting them. If I do add ads, they will likely be be restricted to the interstitial “Waiting for another player…” page.
